Greetings to the members and supporters of Halton Hills Christian School. This update is to keep everyone updated as to the progress of the Capital Campaign and the status of the construction project.
Currently we are pleased to announce that the Capital Campaign has reached an amount so far of 1.84 million dollars in gifts and pledges. We are getting very close to our goal of 2.1 million dollars needed for the project. Work continues in seeking gifts and pledges to get us closer to our goal.
The Building Committee has been meeting every week, working out the details as we approach the time where the project will be put out for tender and site plan approval application. A number of work groups, each focusing on a specific construction discipline, have been detailing all the requirements and specifications of our needs so that the tenders, once received will include all the necessary details. The total cost of the tender will be examined to ensure that it falls within the scope of the total project cost as mandated by the membership. If the construction costs exceed this limit we will approach the membership for consultation as agreed at the autumn membership meeting.
When the tenders are received and if the costs fall within the mandate, the tender will be awarded based on merit. Working with the General Contractor the work groups will ensure the drawings encompass our requirements.
We are humbled by and thankful for the support received so far and we give thanks to the Lord our God for His blessings showered upon us as a school community. We wish to honour God’s blessing by being prudent and conscientious in stewardship. We look forward to this exciting time in the life of our school.
